If you have pelvic complaints, screening is recommended as soon as possible. Although the most of complaints can be caused by cold weather, but without thorough investigation and proper treatment the complaints can worsen and further complications may occur.
Ultrasound is a reliable and fast diagnostic method in case of cystitis, ppolycystic ovary disease (PCO), or endometrial alterations.

What’s the difference between pelvic and abdominal ultrasound?
The abdominal ultrasound examination examines the abdominal and pelvic organs. Abdominal ultrasound examines the state of the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen and kidneys, while the pelvic ultrasound examines the bladder, the womb, the ovaries and the prostate in men.
Usually the cause of abdominal pain is searched for with it, but gallstones, kidney stones, urinary stones, enlargement of individual organs, structural differences can also be detected by pelvic and abdominal ultrasound tests. Cancer diseases and their spreading to the liver, abdominal fluid or purulence accumulating and also bleeding can be diagnosed by it.
Do not eat at least 6 hours before the abdominal and pelvic ultrasound examination and for drinking only carbon-acid-free water is recommended. Drinking water is strongly recommended, as in the pelvic ultrasound evaluation the fullness of the bladder is utmost importance. If the patient is a diabetic, please ask the referral doctor if they can take their medicine before testing and if they can have their breakfast.
Do the pelvic or abdominal ultrasound examinations cause any pain?
The test alone is painless. However, when looking for the cause of some abdominal pain (e.g. gall bladder inflammation), the pressure on the abdominal wall by the examination head may feel uncomfortable. The ultrasound diagnostic examination can be repeated in an unlimited number without any risk.
