Tactile examination by itself is not enough to investigate breast complaints. However, it may be a solution to detect any alterations the non-harmful breast ultrasound examination.

• Physical examination of the breasts
• Ultrasound examination of the breasts
• Composing the report, consultation

Under the age of 35

Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women in Hungary as well. Because of the maternal tendency was postponed, the number of the detection of tumors under the age of 40 was significantly increased. Unfortunately, the majority of younger women turn to a physician when they notice a palpable size of a tumor. Unfortunately, in many cases, it is too late.

However, there is a screening opportunity for young women too! Ultrasound examination of the breast is available to anyone who wants to take part in the screening examination without any difficulties, without waiting.

Under the age of 35 the rich female mammary glandular tissue volume can limitedly be tested by the conventional X-ray mammography. At this age, a tactile lesion can be ultrasonically diagnosed to determine whether it is a fluid (cyst) or tissue structure, whether it presents alone or there are more. In the light of the result, we decide whether a control, a sampling or further testing is required? The high-resolution test head can be used to determine the dilatation of the milk ways and the inflammatory processes of the glandular tissue.

Above the age of 35

Over 35 years of age, ultrasound examination alone is insufficient to provide precise insight for the sure recognition of any malignant process. For this reason, breast ultrasound is recommended as a complementary test to X-ray mammography. Ultrasound examination is not suitable for breast cancer screening over the age of 35, it does not replace mammography. It does not mean that it would not make sense to attend on breast ultrasound examination over 35 years, as many abnormalities can be detected by ultrasound.

Implants

The annual breast ultrasound examination is especially important, even above 35 years, for women with implants. Many women only go to a doctor when they experience problems with their breast implants (pain, swelling, inflammation), however, this is often too late, and the problem could have been tackled at an early stage if it was discovered in time. Therefore, it is advisable to participate annually on breast ultrasound screening and to verify the excellent condition of the breast implants. If a lesion is detected, the plastic surgeon needs to be contacted or further examination is recommended.
